The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a four vehicle crash, that brought traffic to a standstill on I-475 near the Airport Highway exit on Thursday afternoon, has taken the life of one woman.

48-year-old Lori Sheehan, of Toledo, died at a local hospital from the injuries she sustained in the crash.

Sheehan and her right front passenger, 69-year-old Marcia Michalski, were traveling northbound on Interstate 475 when their vehicle traveled off the roadway, crossed the grass median and hit 2 semi-trailers.

One truck driver, 28-year-old Thomas McKee of Alabama, then ran off the roadway and overturned onto its right side.

The driver of the other tractor-trailer has been identified as 42-year-old Gurdip Dhillon of California.

The impact of the crash also ejected a spare tire from Sheehan's trunk, launching it into the path of 65-year-old Danny Amos who was traveling northbound.

Michalski is still being treated for the serious injuries she sustained in the accident.

McKee, Amos and Dhillon were not injured.

At this time it is unclear if alcohol or rain in the area was a factor in the accident.

The crash closed down both Northbound and Southbound lanes at the Airport Highway exit, all lanes have since re-opened.
