The city of Toledo will close both the eastbound and westbound ramps of Interstate 475 on Secor Rd. for ten days starting June 4. Robin Whitney, Commissioner of Engineering Services, says the closures will allow crews to perform the next part of the Secor Road Construction project. "We have 2 phases of work underneath 475 on Secor Road from Queenswood north to about where the Kroger exit is," Ms. Whitney said. Whitney recommends that drivers driving east on I-475 use the Promedica Parkway exit and that westbound motorists exit at Douglas Road, Monroe Street or Talmadge Road.
Pete Hui, manager of Al Smith's Place says the construction which began in March has hurt his restaurant. "It has been a big impact; I did not really prepare for this one," Mr. Hui said.
The Secor Road construction project began in March and is expected to be completed in November. The Secor Rd. I-475 ramps will open on Friday, June 14.
