Troopers tell WNWO a vehicle slammed into the back of a semi.

One person was killed and another rushed to the hospital early Tuesday morning after a semi crash just south of Bowling Green on I-75.

Ohio State Highway Patrol said it happened just before 2 a.m. in the northbound lanes near milepost 169.

A 2014 Nissan Versa had been traveling close behind a tractor trailer, eventually slamming into the back of the tractor trailer, according to authorities.

Troopers said the driver of Nissan, 22-year-old Stephen W. Humphries, was pronounced dead at the scene. Humphries' front seat passenger, 23-year-old Jessica King, of Kanawha, W.Va., is listed under critical condition at St. Vincent's Medical Center.

The driver of the semi, 42-year-old Kenneth Mossbarger of Tipp City, Ohio, was not injured in the crash.

Traffic has been reopened after northbound lanes had been shutdown for two hours to clear the scene.
