A Toledo woman is behind bars and her infant son clinging to life after police say she threw him against a hard surface.
Six-month-old, Avery Glynn Bacon, was taken by Life Flight to Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan late Monday. He was initially brought in to St. Anne's Hospital in West Toledo late Sunday night by his mother, Amanda Bacon.
While at St. Anne's, staff determined the infant was suffering from severe head injuries. Hospital staff notified Toledo Police after transferring the child to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.
Bacon, 25, of 504 W. Alexis, was questioned by police and later booked for Felonious Assault, Child Endangering, and an unrelated theft warrant.
The child is not expected to survive.
Bacon states on her Facebook profile that she attended Bryan High School.
