A uthorities in southeast Michigan are asking for the public's help in solving a decades-old cold case that stretched into Toledo.
Thursday marks the 32nd anniversary of the death Adrian man Theral Heldt (aka Skip). The laborer was found murdered in York Township, near the Washtenaw county border, on Oct. 17, 1981.
An investigation into the murder revealed that Heldt was shot inside his 1975 Chevrolet Nova before his body was dumped in York Township. His vehicle was then driven to the parking lot of a Kroger store at Nebraska Avenue and Hawley Street in Toledo.
Heldt's vehicle was abandoned in the parking lot before the driver got into a waiting maroon-colored Ford Thunderbird, according to a witness. The getaway vehicle fled the scene.
Investigators are now asking for the public's help in determining where Heldt was killed and who was responsible.
