Issue 5 hopes to give much needed help to city parks

Park levy up for vote.

The future of the Toledo Parks and Recreation program will be decided on Election Day November 6th. If Toledo voters approve of Issue 5 it would levy a new property tax to raise money for Toledo parks.

The 1-Mill 10 year tax would bring in about $3 Million a year that would be used to add parks, enhance existing parks, pools and expand recreation programs. People we talked with using city parks today told us they were concerned that the money would be moved to help with police and fire personal.

The levy would cost the owner of a $100,000 home about $31 a year.
