TOLEDO - Toledo Museum of Art's Circle 2445 is hosting its annual Kentucky Derby party, so come out wearing the best looking, fancy hat Saturday.
The event takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. It will feature a live screening of the Kentucky Derby race including a Southern-style menu, bourbon tasting, a game of bocce in the Welles Sculpture Garden. Live music will be provided by Kentucky Chrome and Andrew Ellis.
The Museumâ??s Monroe Street terrace will serve as an impromptu stage for a hat contest, with prizes awarded for the best classic derby hat, best fascinator and most creative topper.
â??Circle 2445â??s Derby party has become one of our major annual events,â?? said Jackie Tussing, the Museumâ??s development officer for special projects and a Circle 2445 board member. â??The Peristyle is one of the most spectacular places to watch the race and it always draws an interesting mix of people.â??
Tickets cost $30 in advance and $40 at the door for Circle 2445 members. For non-members, tickets cost $40 in advance and $50 at the door. A cash bar will be available.
