Lightning strikes church steeple, starts fire

The fire is believed to have started from a lightning strike.

Maumee Fire joined Perrysburg crews to put out a church fire on 215 Front Street around 10:30 a.m.

Dispatch told WNWO that lightning struck the steeple and started the fire at St. Rose Parish.

Our reporter on the scene confirmed with authorities that no one was hurt during the incident .

The fire caused around $200,000 in damages.
