Local humanitarian group heading to Philippines
Mon, 11 Nov 2013 09:35:00 GMT —
A humanitarian group from Maumee is preparing to bring relief to Typhoon Haiyan survivors.
The group, SCORE, is the non-profit arm of the Filipino Association of Toledo. Members have previously assisted with relief efforts for several natural disasters in Philippines, Haiti, and Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina.
SCORE Chairman, Dr. Antonio Paat, and the group prepared medicine, food and other supplies to distribute across the Philippines. The relief team of about 15 people will land in Manila on Thursday, before traveling to some of the hardest-hit areas.
Those who wish to donate can contact SCORE through the webpage, or by mail at 6008 Chanticleer Dr., Maumee.
