The Lucas County Board of Elections has voted in a new director.
The board voted Tuesday to remove Meghan Gallagher from the director's role and replace her with board secretary Gina Kaczala. Both women are Republicans.
In February 2013, the board decided not to remove Gallagher after consultants from the Ohio Secretary of Stateâ??s office recommended she be terminated due to poor management and a level of "mistrust and paranoia" in the board. Gallagher remained until Tuesday, when she was voted out 3-to-1.
Dan DeAngelis, who was also recommended by the state to be terminated in 2013, will retain his seat as deputy director.
Republican board member Jon Stainbrook held the lone vote to keep Gallagher.
