The man accused of stuffing six puppies in a suitcase and leaving them in an alley is scheduled to appear at an animal custody hearing on Friday morning.
Howard Davis faces two counts of abandoning animals, a second degree misdemeanor. The puppies were found zipped up in the bag with the mother tied to garbage container in a North Toledo ally on .
Davis said he did not abandon the dogs, but had given them to someone in Michigan.
Davis' contact information was listed on a luggage tag still attached to the bag the puppies were found in.
