Just 2 days before the mother of a missing East Toledo toddler is scheduled to appear in court, her ex-boyfriend has also been arrested and charged with obstructing justice in the case.
Steven King was taken into custody on Monday and told reporters, "You guys will see when I'm innocent. That's all I've got to say to you."
When a reporter asked "Where's the baby Steven?", King replied "I don't know obviously. You guys will find out when I'm innocent."
Elaina Steinfurth, reported missing on June 2nd, was last seen at a home on Federal Street.
The child was staying at the home with her sister, mother, King and several others.
Angela Steinfurth, Elaina's mother, and King are believed to be the last people to see the child before her disappearance.
This Wednesday, Angela Steinfurth will appear in court for a pre-trial hearing on a charge of obstructing justice.
Before Monday's arrest, Police insisted that King was not a suspect and would not go into detail about what information compelled them to take him into custody.
