Man dies after crashing into grain trailer on County Rd 330

Officials said Craig Scalf, 55, of Tifffin, died at the scene.
Mon, 21 Oct 2013 14:17:18 GMT — A Tiffin man was killed after driving his vehicle into a grain trailer Monday morning in Washington Township.Hancock County Sheriff's Office said Craig Scalf, 55, of Tifffin, was driving his Ford Escape westbound on County Road 216 when he drove pass the stop sign.The crash happened at County Road 216 and County Road 330 around 5:30 a.m. where Scalf's vehicle crashed into a tractor that was pulling a grain trailer full of corn.Officials said the Scalf was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor, James Cole, was not injured in the crash.Crews closed off the the intersection for a few hours to clean up the debris.The crash remains under investigation.
