A Toledo man is being held on a $1 million bond after being charged with the murder of his ex-wife.
Ronald C. Boaston, of 1126 Amanda Circle, appeared in Toledo Municipal Court Friday morning. On Thursday, authorities charged him in the death of his ex-wife, 28-year-old Brandi Gonyer-Boaston.
Police say Boaston strangled his wife at the Amanda Circle residence on Valentine's Day, February 14. A day later, her body was found inside a running car parked miles away. Fulton County Sheriff's deputies were called after hunters found the vehicle in a field on County Road N in Royalton Township.
An autopsy revealed Gonyer-Boaston died of asphyxiation, according to Lucas County Coroner's Office.
According to a police report, Ronald Boaston's actions were corroberated by several witness statements along with his own statements made to investigators.
Boaston is being held in the Lucas County Jail on a $1 million bond. A preliminary court hearing is scheduled for April 21.
Gonyer-Boaston was mother of six. She worked as a nurse at a Waterville care station.
