Man in serious condition after shot in the back in Custar

Thu, 21 Nov 2013 10:05:43 GMT — A man was flown to a Toledo hospital after getting shot in the back with a shotgun Wednesday.42-year-old William Henry Morris of Rutland, is in serious condition with a gunshot wound at University of Toledo Medical Center.Officials arrested 53-year-old Thomas J. Boyer of Custar for the shooting at his house at 22743 Defiance Pike in Custar.Boyer faces charges of attempted murder. He is being held at the Wood County Justice Center, while he awaits a court date at the Bowling Green Municipal Court.The school across the street, St. Louis Catholic School, had been on lockdown as a precautionary measure, while officers investigated the scene.The Wood County Sheriff's Office, Ohio Attorney General's Office, and Wood County Prosecutor's Office are collecting detail for the investigation.
