Icy roads Tuesday morning led a pick-up truck to lose control and strike a man who had just gotten out of his car after a crash of his own.
Emergency officials responded to the scene of a person struck on Bancroft Rd. just west of Schwamberger Road (Township Highway 153) around 7:30 a.m. Investigators say Jeff Lisenbee, 21, was driving an S10 pick-up truck east on W. Bancroft when he collided with a pick-up headed west. The westbound truck was driven by Michael Werner, 50.
Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say Lisenbee then got out of his truck and was struck by a third vehicle driven by Larry Schumaker, 72.
Lisenbee was transported to the University of Toledo Medical Center with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. Troopers now say Lisenbee suffered only non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say the icy road conditions were to blame for the incident.
