Robbing a jewelry store full of customers in the middle of the afternoon and getting away? One man made this incident seem easier than taking candy from a baby.
Surveillance video shows the suspect wearing a black ski mask enter Safari Gems Jeweler on Monroe Street on Friday afternoon. Inside the store, he immediately pulls out a black semi-automatic handgun and points the weapon at store employees and customers, including a young child.
The man escaped out the back of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police describe the suspect as a white male in his 20s, around 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 165 pounds. Along with the ski mask, the suspect wore a dark blue hooded shirt, blue sweatpants and red gloves.
