Meteorologist Kimberly Newman takes forecasting to the classroom
TOLEDO, Ohio (WNWO) - As we approach active weather season, Kindergarten students at Riverside Elementary School are getting a jump start at weather prediction.
NBC24 Meteorologist Kimberly Newman spent the afternoon teaching students about the creation of storms, snow, even tornadoes.
Students got hands on experience, creating things like a tornado in a bottle..
“We like to access all types of different learners in our building," said Principal Nate Mollenhauer. "Having the kids roll their sleeves up, dive in, and really experience science in that way is important."
Riverside Elementary school staff is always looking to engage students in an interactive way.
