Michigan issues driver's licenses to immigrants

The Michigan Department of State is now required to issue driver's licenses to immigrants residing legally in the state.

This also extends to those that were brought into the country illegally as children, and were then raised here. This is part of the DACA program(Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).

The licenses will be given on a limited-term basis, and will expire at the same time any current documentation states.
