The mother of an 18-month-old East Toledo toddler, missing for almost two weeks, was arrested late Wednesday on a charge of endangering children.
Elaina Steinfurth's mother, who told WNWO during an earlier interview that her name was Angela Steinfurth, was booked into the Lucas County jail under the name Angela J. Mories.
According to jail records, Mories was arrested just after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and was admitted into the jail at 11 p.m.
The arrest came just a few short hours after Toledo Police and the FBI searched two East Toledo homes and a cadaver dog searched a vehicle in the area. The vehicle was towed away from the scene, but it is unclear if it was taken to another location for processing.
One of the homes, in the 700-block of Federal St., was the last place that Elaina Steinfurth was seen on June 2. The other home, a vacant property in the 600-block of Federal, was also searched on Wednesday evening.
Earlier on Wednesday, Toledo Police and the FBI jointly offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to Elaina's location.
The story also received national attention Wednesday when it was the focus of an hour long episode of "Nancy Grace" on HLN.
