Monclova Township residents warned of man posing as Time Warner worker

The Lucas County Sheriff's Office is asking residents in Monclova Township to be aware of a man posing as a Time Warner employee to gain access to homes and computers inside.

The Lucas County Sheriff's Office is asking residents in Monclova Township to be aware of a man posing as a Time Warner employee to gain access to homes and computers inside.

Time Warner said they do not have any employees in the area.

The suspect is said to be dressed in a khaki or grey-colored uniform with a reflective vest with a Time Warner logo on the back. He knocks on doors and advises residents that their computer modem may be causing problems to neighboring homes.

Once inside the home, the suspect hooks up a device to the home's computer and goes back and forth between the computer and the basement to "check wiring."

The suspect is described as male, possibly hispanic, 5'9" tall, average build, with dark, frizzy hair. He may be driving a white utility truck or van with no markings on the outside of the vehicle.

If the suspect knocks on your door, you are advised to not allow entry. Contact the Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at 419-213-4917 with any information, or send a private message on the Lucas County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
