The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating a serious crash that along southbound US 23, near Summerfield Road, in Summerfield Township on Friday.
Officials say 66-year-old Timothy N. Kreps of Toledo was driving southbound when he was rear ended by 23-year-old Seth Winter of Toledo.
Authorities believe Kreps was stopped for traffic ahead of him, due to a construction zone further south on US-23.
Winter was transported to Toledo Hospital by a Promedica Helicopter, where he was last listed in critical condition.
Mr. Kreps was transported to Toledo Hospital by Huron Valley Ambulance service where he was last listed in stable condition.
Kreps passenger, 65-year-old David W. Dickson of Youngsville, was transported to Toledo Hospital by a Life Flight Helicopter and was last listed in critical condition.
Police say Winter was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash but both Kreps and Dickson were wearing their seatbelts.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
