Monroe County Sheriff's Office investigates home invasion

Mon, 28 Feb 2011 01:50:23 GMT — A Bedford Township man was taken into custody by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office late Saturday night in connection with a home invasion that took place early Saturday morning. Police responded to a home in the 2100 block of Smith Road in Bedford Township around 1:15a.m. The 43-year-old female victim told police that her former boyfriend had broke into her home and threatened her with a pistol, demading to know who she was currently in a relationship with. After threatening several times to kill the victim, the man eventually left the house. Around 11 p.m. on Saturday evening, sheriff's deputies located the male subject at his home. Shortly after the interview began the man became uncooperative . While attempting to handcuff the man the deputies noticed that the man was holding a firearm. A taser was used on the suspect and he was eventually taken into custody. One of the deputies was injured in the knee and ws taken to the hospital. Police did not release the suspect's name.
