The Monroe group Justice for Nevaeh is helping kids fill their backpacks for the new school year.
Over 150 kids and adults showed up to the groupâ??s annual back to school party on Tuesday at the Moose Family Center. Kids were treated to jump around in a moon bounce, free food, snow cones, cotton candy, and even a water balloon toss for prizes. All kids went home with a free bag of school supplies.
The event is held in memory of Nevaeh Buchanan, a five-year-old who was found slain along the River Raisin in 2009.
Justice for Nevaeh has recently helped organize the search effort for missing east Toledo toddler Elaina Steinfurth.
