Julia Niswender, 23, was found dead inside her Ypsilanti apartment.

Authorities suspect foul-play in the death of a Monroe County native and Eastern Michigan University student.

Police say the body of Julia Niswender, 23, was found Tuesday night in an off-campus apartment. While the cause of death has yet to be determined, police are treating the death as a homicide.

According to Niswender's Facebook profile, she was studying Communications at EMU and worked as a sales associate at Wal-Mart. She is a 2008 graduate of Monroe High School.

A friend, Andrew Hoppert, says Niswender was "very social" and had a large group of friends. He says she didn't live alone in Ypsilanti.
