      Monroe nun with breast cancer who gave inspiration dies

      A nun who offered inspiration in a blog, despite her breast cancer diagnosis, has died in Monroe.

      St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores says Sister Carol Juhasz died Wednesday at the Monroe motherhouse of her religious order, Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She was 62.

      Msgr. Mike Bugarin, pastor of St. Joan of Arc, says Juhasz "taught us how to live and, in a beautiful way, she taught us how to die."

      The Detroit News reports Juhasz was told last March that she had six months to live. She went public, writing a blog and encouraging people to ask about her impending death.

      Visitation services will be held in Monroe on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a 3 p.m. vigil service

      Funeral services will be held in Monroe on Monday at 9:30 a.m.

      On Tuesday, another visitation and funeral will be held at at St. Joan of Arc in St. Clair Shores.
