3 men have been arrested for the murder of a 1-year-old Toledo girl and the wounding of her 2 year old sister.
The pair was shot as they slept in at unit at the Moody Manor Apartments on August 9th.
The trio, however, is no stranger to Toledo Police and was previously arrested for obstruction of justice in the case.
Now, 18-year-old Antwaine Jones, 20-year-old Keshawn Jennings and 20-year-old James Moore have been indicted on charges of aggravated murder and attempted murder.
â??Each of them is charged with 11 different counts all related to the shooting at the Moody Manor,â?? Toledo Police Captain Wes Bombrys said.
Specifically the men are now accused of Aggravated Murder w/spec, Murder w/spec, attempt to commit aggravated murder w/spec, felonious assault w/ firearm spec, attempt to commit aggravated murder w/spec, felonious assault w/ firearm spec, attempt to commit murder w/spec 3, felonious assault w/ firearm spec, attempt to commit murder w/spec 3, felonious assault w/ firearm spec and improper discharge of a gun into a habitation w/ gun spec.
"I don't know s#*t man. I'm going home. I'm innocent. I didn't do s#*t man. Dirty s#*t cops," Jones said to reporters as he was brought in by police on Wednesday.
Neither Jennings nor Moore would say anything to the media as they were brought in for the homicide of 1-year-old Keondra Hooks and the shooting of 2-year-old Leondra Hooks.
Out at the Moody Manor Apartments, where the girls were gunned down, residents have mixed reactions about the latest developments.
For Kathy Russell, a mother of 5 and grandmother to 8, more needs to happen before she feels safe at home.
â??I would want to see justice completely done to make sure the men are responsible for this and that they pay for it,â?? Russell said.
Those with ties to the suspects in the case say that police are focusing on the wrong people.
â??They really need to do an investigation and a through one instead of just grabbing known gang members and throwing bodies on them,â?? Moody Manor resident Wiley Wilson said.
All three will be arraigned on the new charges against them on Thursday morning.
