A national police union is calling for Toledo Councilman Larry Sykes to resign.
The Toledo Free Press reports that the International Union of Police Associations sent a letter to Sykes saying Sykes used an April traffic stop to "foment racial tensions" in Toledo.
Sykes was pulled over when officers could not read his back license plate and noted that his front plate was missing.
Sykes first said he was a victim of profiling.
He later apologized.
The Toledo Police Patrolman's Association has already called for Sykes resignation.
