More than two dozen people from Poland to Pakistan took an oath Thursday to renounce all allegiance to those countries and become full American citizens.
This special naturalization ceremony took place at St. Ursula Academy where the entire student body was invited to witness the process.
School leaders say it is great for students to see people who have worked to earn the right of american citizenship.
"We think it's important for our students to witness something like this and be part of that government in action sort of thing," said St. Ursula Academy Principal Ann Martin.
Martin said many students also relate to ceremony because they have had parents or relatives who have gone through naturalization.
Last year, a St. Ursula teacher even went through the process.
Special guests included representatives from the American Legion, the League of Women Voters and Toledo City Council.
