Rain threatened to impact the 34th annual Glass City Marathon on Sunday morning, but runners were given a reprieve by Mother Nature.
The rain held off until just the last few runners remained on the course. About 3,500 individuals participated in this year's annual race, running either the marathon, half marathon or 10k.
Five members of the NBC 24 newsroom participated in a 5 person relay. Anchors Chance Walser, Laura Rice and Hubert Wiggins and technical directors Brian Murray and Mike Brundage teamed up to complete the 26.2-mile marathon course, which snaked from the University of Toledo's Glass Bowl through the streets of Ottawa Hills and Sylvania. The news team finished the race in 4 hours and 30 minutes, a new record for an NBC 24 relay team in the Glass City Marathon.
