Nearly 90 and now a graduate of Lourdes University

Campbell receives her associates degree on Monday.

Proving itâ??s never too late to learn or earn a college degree, Evelyn Campbell returned to school as a non-traditional student at Lourdes in the late 1980â??s.

Though she excelled in her studies, holding a nearly perfect grade point average, life circumstances prevented her from completing her bachelorâ??s degree.

Realizing his mother was getting on in her years, Evelynâ??s son Craig contacted Lourdes to see what might be done and to his surprise, found that his mother had completed enough coursework for an Associate of Arts degree.

At nearly 90 years old, one of Evelynâ??s lifelong dreams came true on Monday night.

Lourdes President David J. Livingston, PhD, and Provost Geoffrey J. Grubb, PhD presented her with an Associate of Arts degree from Lourdes University.

Sr. Jane Mary Sorosiak, one of Evelynâ??s favorite Lourdes instructors and mentors, was also present.
