Negotiation talks continue between union, Cooper Tire

Cooper Tire met with union leaders for a second day about the lockout.

Cooper Tire and union officials didn't reach a deal on Monday, but met again behind closed doors at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Both sides remained mum about the conversation. The tire maker and members of the United Steelworkers Local 207 are working with a federal negotiator toward a new labor contract.

Around 1,000 unionized Cooper Tire workers have been locked out since November. Yesterday's meeting was the first since Dec. 13.
