Neighbors of the Rossford family who escaped a house fire on Tuesday are collecting gift cards to help them cope with their losses.
The Myers family of Grassy Lane lost their home and all of their possessions in the fire, an estimated $350,000 worth of damage. Tim, Beth, Tori, Matt, cousin Andrew and their dog Rascal escaped the blaze, which started around 4:30 a.m.
Fundraiser organizer Sharron Waclawski hopes gift cards will help the family purchase basic supplies and meals while they rebuild their lives. Gift cards to local stores or restaurants may be dropped off at 1240 Grassy Lane or you may call (419)-270-6261 for donation pick-up.
Waclawski also welcomes community members to include encouraging notes and their names with their donations.
"The Myers are currently staying in a hotel while deciding where they will live," gift card drive organizers wrote to WNWO. "While they are all very thankful and lucky to be alive, they can use your prayers as they deal with this devastating event."
