A vacant home went up in flames early Saturday morning, which also damaged a neighborâ??s home.
Fire crews responded to the blaze around 5 a.m. at the corner of Erie and Magnolia Street.
It is the most recent fire on the block in the past several months, near the scene of an alleged arson that claimed the lives of two Toledo firefighters in January.
Next-door-neighbor Miriam Miller woke up to see flames outside her bedroom window. Her home suffered minor scorches and water damage in the fire. Miller says she is fed up with how the city is handling vacant homes.
â??Well, they don't do nothing about them. They let them vacant and people go in and destroy them and arson them,â?? said Miller. She added, â??We could have lost our home. I'm so happy we didn't, but we could have.â??
No injuries were reported in the blaze.
