Fire crews responded to the blaze around 5 a.m. at the corner of Erie and Magnolia Street.

Next-door-neighbor Miriam Miller woke up to see flames outside her bedroom window. Her home suffered minor scorches and water damage in the fire. Miller says she is fed up with how the city is handling vacant homes.

â??Well, they don't do nothing about them. They let them vacant and people go in and destroy them and arson them,â?? said Miller. She added, â??We could have lost our home. I'm so happy we didn't, but we could have.â??

No injuries were reported in the blaze.
