New graduation requirements for TPS Class of 2018
New requirements are now in place for TPS students graduating in 2018.
High school administrators are meeting with parents on this week to explain the new guidelines.
Students will now be required to earn 20 credits in specific subjects as well as choosing one of three options showing that they are ready for a job or college.
They will also have to pass seven specific end of course exams.
"The community's been talking ever since the change of testing for the Class of 2018 to come up with some alternative pathways,” says Jim Gault, from Toledo Public Schools, “Our legislators listened and then in June they came out and stated there were these alternative pathways."
If you would like more information, there will be meetings at Rogers, Scott and Woodward high schools from 6 – 7 Tuesday night.
