Healthcare Reit is planning to invest millions of dollars in Toledo and create new jobs. The company has been in Toledo for almost 40 years and they're ready to invest $10 million in the city and create 45 new jobs over the next three years.
Monday, representatives from the company went to Columbus where they spoke with the Department of Development. They were granted a loan so that they could take over the former Dana headquarters. They also asked for job creation tax credits.
Now they need City Council to approve a job tax credit, an expansion incentive and a 12 year tax abatement.
Healthcare Reit hopes to work out a deal with Dana soon to take over the old headquarters. They say they'll need to do some renovations on the building before they move in, which will hopefully be in 2011.
