New Photos: The 'Suitcase Six' ready for adoption

The "Suitcase Six", along with their mother, are now just days away from finding new homes.

The Toledo Area Humane Society provided WNWO with new photos of the puppies and their mother.

The 6 pups were found in a zipped up suitcase, last month, which was left next to a North Toledo dumpster.

Staff at the Toledo Area Humane Society will begin accepting applications, to adopt the puppies and their mother, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.

Applications will be accepted through next Wednesday until 7:00 p.m. and then the applicants will be chosen using random selection.

â??Because there has been such an interest in this case and such an outpouring of people wanting to adopt the puppies or their mom, weâ??ve come up with a process that we think is as fair as possible in this situation,â?? Executive Director of the Toledo Area Humane Society John Dinon said.

The adoption fee for the puppies and their mother will be $200 each.

This includes the cost of spaying or neutering each dog, giving them an identification microchip, and giving the dogs all the necessary vaccinations.
