An NFL quarterback with Toledo ties is set to open the doors to his new fine-dining restaurant on the University of Toledo campus.
â??Gradkowskiâ??sâ?? celebrates its grand-opening on Tuesday after months of preparation. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback and former UT star Bruce Gradkowski was on-hand Monday to treat WNWO to a sneak-peek of his new restaurant.
â??Iâ??ve always thought about getting into a restaurant, a bar, or a sports bar,â?? Gradkowski said. He continued, â??I canâ??t picture wanting to do this anywhere else than right out in Toledo.â??
The up-scale establishment features a fully stocked wet bar prominently placed in the main dining room. A plethora of flat-screen televisions line the walls and bar area, including a large projection screen in one of the three dining rooms at Gradkowskiâ??s. Another room offers guests a unique dining experience at a â??city-styleâ?? communal table, surrounded by a vast selection of fine wines.
â??Itâ??s not just about football, itâ??s about the university, the students, the student-athletes and the community thatâ??s helped me along the way to get to where Iâ??m at,â?? Gradkowski said.
The restaurant sits at the corner of Secor Road and Dorr Street as part of the UT Gateway. It features faire from gourmet pizza, to burgers, and pasta dishes.
