No more jail time for leader of Lenawee Co. based militia

Hutaree members arrested and later acquitted of trying to overthrow the government

The leader of a Lenawee County based militia group will not spend anymore time behind bars for possessing illegal weapons.

The judge says the two years David Stone spent in jail awaiting trial on charges he and other members of his group called the Hutaree tried to overthrow the government was enough.

Stone pleaded guilty in March to the gun charge after the judge dismissed more serious charges against him and the others.

The judge also sentenced Stone's son to time served for a gun crime.
