Video of North Koreans are weeping publicly over the loss of Kim Jong Il has started to trend across the world. Koreans all over the city of Pyongyang are gathering around statues of their departed "Dear Leader" and are crying their eyes out.
Il's body is being laid out today in a public plaza which is already filled with mourners waiting to pay their respects.
The Korean people are in "deep sorrow at the loss of the benevolent father of our nation," Ri Ho Il, a lecturer at the Korean Revolutionary History Museum, told The Associated Press in Pyongyang.
Kim Jong Il died of a massive heart attack at the age of 69. His son Kim Jong Un is set to take his fathers position as leader of North Korea.
