      Northwest Ohio construction updates

      Lucas/Wood County

      Interstate 75: Disalle Bridge Deck Overlay *NEW PROJECT* Lucas and Wood Counties (8019-09): Bridge deck overlay on I-75 in both directions, from Wales Road to South Avenue, including the Disalle Bridge. Beginning Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 17, nightly from 10pm through 6am, I-75, from Wales Road to South Avenue, may be reduced to one lane for survey work. Project complete: October 2010.

      Interstate 75/Central Avenue: Bridge Replacement Lucas County (340-08): Replacement of three bridges at Central Avenue, Douglas Road and Auburn Avenue for the widening of I-475/I-75. The Central Avenue bridge over I-75 is closed to traffic and pedestrians until October 2009. Intermittent shoulder closures are possible on I-75 in both directions at the Central Avenue bridge. The Central Avenue detour is Upton Avenue; Monroe Street; Detroit Avenue; Central Avenue to reconstruct Central Avenue, North Cove Boulevard and Jeep Parkway. The four interchange ramps from Willys Parkway and North Cove Boulevard to I-75 and I-475 are closed until October 2009:

      o The ramp from northbound I-75 to Jeep Parkway/Willys Parkway (Exit 205A) is closed. Detour: Berdan Avenue (Exit 205B); Jeep Parkway. o The ramp from eastbound I-475 to Jeep Parkway/Willys Parkway (Exit 205A) is closed. Detour: I-75, Berdan Avenue exit (Exit 205B); Jeep Parkway. o The ramp from Jeep Parkway/Willys Parkway to southbound I-75 is closed. Detour: North Cove Boulevard; Central Avenue; Kelly Avenue; eastbound I-475. o The ramp from North Cove Boulevard to westbound I-475 is closed. Detour: Central Avenue; Upton Avenue. Three bridge project complete: October 2010.

      Interstate 475/Douglas Road: Bridge Replacement Lucas County (340-08): Replacement of three bridges at Douglas Road, Central Avenue and Auburn Avenue for the widening of I-475/I-75. Intermittent lane and shoulder closures are possible on I-475 in both directions at the Douglas Road bridge. The Douglas Road bridge over I-475 is closed to traffic and pedestrians through November 2009. Detour: Monroe Street, Secor Road; Sylvania Avenue. The ramps to and from I-475 are open. Detour for westbound I-475 traffic to southbound Douglas Road: Secor Road (Exit 17), eastbound Monroe Street; Douglas Road. Through November 2009, Langenderfer Drive, between Harley Road to Douglas Road, and Groveland Road, between Harley Road and Douglas Road, will be closed. Three bridge project complete: October 2010. All work is weather permitting.

      Interstate 475 Widening: Permanent City Street Closures *NEW* Lucas County (2006-07): Beginning Monday, July 13, ODOT will permanently close off the following streets in the City of Toledo to traffic: Giant Street at Promedica Parkway; Bigalow Street at Promedica Parkway; Kelly Avenue at the ramp to eastbound I-475; Giant Street at Upton Avenue, Georgia Avenue at Kelly Avenue. These areas were vacated in preparation for the widening of I-475 and construction of the Promedica Parkway interchange.

      Interstate 280: Trench Project Lucas County (493-08): Front and Summit streets will be realigned to intersect with the Craig Bridge. Work includes filling the existing I-280 trench and reconnecting city streets in Toledo. The Craig Bridge is closed to traffic and pedestrians through December 2009. Summit Street detour: Summit Street; Galena; Greenbelt Parkway; I-280. Front Street Detour: Navarre Avenue; I-280. North Erie Street between Bush Street and Ash Street is open to two-way traffic. Through fall 2010, Ontario Street and Michigan Street, between Buckeye Street and Ash Street, are closed for structure removal and roadway replacement. Detour: Buckeye Street; Ash Street; Erie Street; Buffalo Street. Through summer 2010, Front Street, between Dearborn Avenue and the ramp to northbound I-280, is restriped for single-lane, bidirectional traffic.Interstate 280: Veterans TM Glass City Skyway Landscape Project *UPDATED* Lucas County (408-07): From 7am until 4pm daily, crews will be landscaping along the on and off ramps and the right shoulders in both directions on I-280 between Navarre Avenue and Manhattan Boulevard. Beginning Friday, July 10 through Wednesday, July 15, expect intermittent lane restrictions on the ramps from northbound and southbound I-280 to Navarre Avenue (Exit 7) for guardrail work. All traffic will be maintained. Project complete: October 2009. All work is weather permitting.

      Interstate 75: Median Repair *NEW* Lucas County (517-08): Beginning Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16, nightly from 9pm until 6am, I-75, at Berdan Avenue, will be reduced to one lane in both directions for median repair. All work is weather permitting.

      U.S. Route 24: New Highway Construction *UPDATED* Lucas County (8015-09): Construction of a newly aligned four-lane divided highway, from Hertzfeld Road to the existing U.S. 24 northeast of Waterville. Work includes construction of an interchange at SR 64 and a partial interchange to the existing U.S. 24. Expect construction vehicles working near the new alignment throughout the length of the project.

      Through spring 2010, Neowash Road, between Hertzfeld Road and Noward Road, will close for overpass construction. Detour: Hertzfeld Road; Neapolis-Waterville Road; Waterville-Monclova Road; U.S. 24. Beginning Wednesday, July 15 through Thursday, July 16, Dutch Road, between Finzel Road and Waterville-Monclova Road, will be closed for sewer repair. Detour: Finzel Road; SR 64; Waterville-Monclova.

      U.S. Route 24: New Highway Construction *NEW WORK BEGINS NEXT WEEK* Lucas and Henry counties (201-09): Construction of a newly aligned four-lane divided highway between Henry County Road 4A to Hertzfeld Road. Work includes construction of an interchange at SR 295 and the construction of bridges at CR 3, CR 109 and Jeffers Road. Motorists can expect construction vehicles working near the new alignment throughout the length of the project. Beginning Monday, July 13 through August 2010, Jeffers Road, just north of Patton Road, will be closed for overpass construction. Detour: Box Road; SR 295; U.S. 24. Additionally on Monday, July 13 through August 2010, Patton Road, between Yawberg Road and Jeffers Road, is closed. Project complete: November 2012. All work is weather permitting.

      U.S. Route 20: Major Widening *UPDATED* Wood and Sandusky counties (167-07): U.S. 20 is being widened from two lanes to five from Bush Street in Woodville to Bradner Road. Lane widths in both directions are restricted to 11 feet throughout the construction zone. One lane will be maintained at all times. No permitted loads. Through October 2009, Bradner Road, south of U.S. 20, is closed. Detour: Pemberville Road. Through July 2009, Emch Road, south of U.S. 20, is closed. Detour: Younker Road; U.S. 23. Beginning Wednesday, July 22 through October 2009, U.S. 23, south of U.S. 20, will be closed. Detour: SR 105; SR 582.State Route 795: Bridge Replacement *UPDATED* Wood County (8032-08): Construction of a new bridge and the addition of turn lanes over I-280 at SR 795. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures on I-280 for bridge work throughout the project. Beginning Wednesday, July 15 at 8pm through Thursday, July 16 at 6am, motorists should expect 15 to 30 minute closures of I-280 in both directions at SR 795 and the ramp from eastbound SR 795 to southbound I-280 for structural steel placement.

      Through November, the SR 795 bridge over I-280 is closed. Access to and from northbound and southbound I-280 will remain open. Detour eastbound SR 795 to northbound I-280: southbound I-280; Exit 1B (Bahnsen Road); northbound I-280; SR 795 (Exit 2). Detour westbound SR 795 to southbound I-280: northbound I-280; Walbridge Road (Exit 4); southbound I-280; SR 795 (Exit 2). Through August, the exit ramp from southbound I-280 to SR 795 (Exit 2) is closed. SR 795, between Lemoyne Road and the southbound I-280 entrance ramp, will be one-way for eastbound traffic only.

      Access will be maintained to the Sunoco gas station and Carter Lumber. Traffic will not be permitted to go westbound on SR795 upon leaving either business. Detour: SB I-280/SR 420; westbound U.S. 20 (Exit 1A); Oregon Road. Project complete: November 2009.State Route 795: Median Modification Wood County: Through Friday, July 17, access from westbound SR 795 to Cedar Park Boulevard and from Cedar Park Boulevard to westbound SR 795 will be restricted for median modification. Project complete: July 2009.

      14. State Route 2: Turn Lane Installation *UPDATED* Lucas County (207-09): Reconstruction and widening of SR 2 for the installation of left turn lanes at the intersections of Teachout Road and Yondota Road. Expect shoulder work on SR 2 from the Bono curve to Decant Road for pavement installation. Motorists may encounter short-term intermittent lane restrictions. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Beginning Monday, July 13 through Wednesday, August 12, northbound Yondota Road to SR 2 will be closed. Project complete: October 2009. All work is weather permitting.15. State Route 2: Signal Installation Lucas County (637-08): Expect nighttime closures at various locations on Airport Highway (SR 2) for signal installation. On Thursday, July 9, from 9pm through Friday, July 10 at 8am, Spring Meadows Drive at Airport Highway will be closed. Future work will be announced. Project complete: August 2009. State Route 25: Bridge Repair Wood County: Beginning Monday, July 13 through Thursday, July 16, from 8am until 3pm daily, expect intermittent lane restrictions in both directions on SR 25 at SR 6 for bridge repair. All work is weather permitting.Fulton/Henry/Williams County U.S. Route 24: New Highway Construction Henry County (152-08): Construction of a newly aligned four-lane divided highway is underway, including an interchange at SR 109 and overpass at CR 4A in Henry County. Construction vehicles will enter and exit using the current U.S. 24, SR 109 and CR 4A. Through October 2009, CR S between CR 7 and CR 8 is closed for construction of the SR 109 interchange. Project complete: November 2011.

      U.S. Route 24/U.S. Route 6: Glenwood Overpass Grade Separation Henry County (66-08): Grade separation over existing four-lane highway at U.S. 6/U.S. 24. Through July, expect daytime intermittent lane closures in both directions of U.S. 24/ U.S. 6, between SR 108 and Woodlawn Avenue (U.S. 6), for bridge construction. Glenwood Avenue, between Devonshire Drive and North Harmony Drive, is closed for the duration of the project. Detour: Woodlawn Avenue; CR 15; Township Road R. Project complete: September 2009.

      U.S. Route 20 and State Route 109: Resurfacing Fulton County (141-09): Resurfacing project on U.S. 20, from SR 109 to SR 108, on SR 109, from U.S. 20 to the Ohio/Michigan border, and on SR 109, from just south of Delta to SR 2/U.S. 20A. Through Friday, July 17, expect intermittent lane closures on U.S. 20, from SR 109 to SR 108. Beginning Friday, July 10, expect intermittent lane closures on SR 109, from just south of Delta to SR 2/U.S. 20A. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: October 2009.

      State Route 109: Pavement Repair Fulton County: Through Friday, July 10, expect intermittent lane restrictions on SR 109, between CR D and the Henry County Line, for pavement repair. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.

      State Route 108: Bridge Repair/Resurfacing Henry County (77-09): Through September, expect intermittent lane closures on SR 108 between Becklee Drive and CR W for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: September 2009.

      State Route 576: Sewer Repair *UPDATED* Williams County: SR 576 at Jefferson Street in Montpelier is closed through Sunday, July 12 for sewer repair. Detour: SR 34; SR 15; SR 107. Contact the Village of Montpelier for more information 419-485-5543.

      State Route 576: Bridge Repair *NEW* Williams County: Beginning Thursday, July 16 through Thursday, July 23, SR 576, at CR D near the railroad tracks, will be closed for bridge repair. Detour: U.S. 6; SR 15; SR 107.

      State Route 49: Pavement Repairs Williams County (187-09): Through October, expect intermittent lane closures on SR 49, from County Road C to the Defiance Williams County line for pavement repair. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Through Tuesday, July 14, SR 49, from Clarksville Road to the Defiance Williams County Line, is closed for bridge repair. Detour: SR 249; SR 2; U.S. 6.Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca County State Route 19 and State Route 590: Resurfacing Ottawa County (8021-08): Resurfacing and pavement repairs on SR 19 and SR 590 in Ottawa County. Through Friday, July 10, SR 19 is closed from North Railroad Street to Toussaint East Road. Detour: SR 2; SR 590; SR 163. Local traffic will be maintained. Project complete: July 2009.

      East Harbor State Park: Pavement repair *UPDATED* Ottawa County (168-08): Through July, expect intermittent weekday closures of various parking areas and portions of the campground areas for pavement repair and construction. No work during the weekends throughout the project. Through Friday, July 10, expect intermittent closures of the parking lots at Marblehead Lighthouse for paving. Expect one parking lot to remain open at all times. Project complete: July 2009.State Route 19 and State Route 228: Chip Seal Seneca County (89-09): Through September, motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures on SR 19, from the village limits of Green Springs (Norfolk-Southern railroad tracks) to SR 67, and on SR 228, from SR 19 to SR 101 for pavement repair. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Work has been suspended through July.State Route 101: Resurfacing, Culvert and Bridge Repair Sandusky and Seneca counties: Resurfacing, culvert replacement and bridge repair on SR 101 in Seneca County between CR 38 and the Sandusky County line. Through Tuesday, July 21, SR 101, between U.S. 20 in Clyde and SR 19, is closed for bridge and culvert repair. Detour: SR 19; U.S. 20. Project complete: October 2009. All work is weather permitting.U.S. Route 224: Resurfacing & Culvert Replacement Seneca County (90-09): Resurfacing and culvert replacement on U.S. 224 between SR 67 and SR 4 in Seneca County. Through July, expect intermittent lane closures on U.S. 224 between SR 67 and SR 4. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July 2009. All work is weather permitting.
