ODOT project begins on Anthony Wayne Bridge

ODOT officials said construction will close for 19 months.

The Anthony Wayne Bridge closes Monday to begin the $28.7 million Ohio Department of Transportation project.

Drivers who use the High Level Bridge that connects downtown to east Toledo will need to find a different route.

ODOT is expected to re-deck the bridge, replace lighting and existing truss end spans, and rebuild sidewalks, railings and fences.

ODOT officials said the bridge won't reopen until September 2015.
