Officers & bystanders pull Marblehead man from burning car

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that took the life of a Marblehead man on Friday afternoon.
Officials say, just before 1 p.m., 43-year-old Jeffery Sloan w
as traveling eastbound on Port Clinton Eastern when he drove off the right side of the road and hit two highway signs, then several trees.
Sloan's vehicle rotated clockwise coming to rest against the trees when his vehicle caught fire.
Danbury Police Officer John Belcher, Ottawa County Deputy Mark Nye and two bystanders, Rick Fulton and Ron Eckel, were able to pull Sloan from his vehicle.
Still, Sloan died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
Authorities do not know why Sloan drove off the roadway but say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
