Ohio court reverses ruling dropping murder charge in Fulton Co. cold case

An appeals court in Ohio is reversing a judge's decision to drop charges against a former Maumee man accused of killing a teenage girl in Fulton County 25 years ago.

A ruling released Friday says the judge made a mistake when he dismissed the charges because he thought prosecutors built their case around witness testimony and did not have any physical evidence.

Prosecutors in Ohio charged Walter Zimbeck in 2009 in the killing of a 14-year-old girl near Toledo.

Zimbeck was 18 years old when the body of Lori Ann Hill, his former girlfriend, was found in 1985 after a Halloween party.

Zimbeck was arrested at his home in Kodak near Knoxville, Tenn. He later pleaded not guilty to the charges.
