Ohio nursing home shuts doors after meth lab fire

ASHTABULA, Ohio (AP) - A nursing home in far northeast Ohio has apparently closed after a fatal methamphetamine lab fire in a resident's room.

The March 4 fire at Park Haven Home in Ashtabula killed a man who police say was not a resident or employee. Six more people were hurt.

The facility was later found to be violating federal regulations. State agencies were in the process of trying to revokethe facility's license and end its Medicaid provider agreement. The Star-Beacon newspaper in Ashtabula reports Park Haven closed its doors Friday and had more than 30 residents relocated to other care facilities. A call to the facility rang unanswered Saturday. Police have said they expect charges against two men who were burned in the fire.
