      Ohio University inventors earn honors

      Athens, Ohio-- Ohio University College in southeast Ohio announced that it has two of its professors have been named charter fellows of the National Academy of inventors.

      John Kopchick and Gerardine Bottle were among 98 other innovators to receive the honor award this year.

      Bottle is a professor of chemical and bimolecular engineering at OU. He has developed technologies that harness commercial and residential waste products an example is ammonia, that is turn into sustainable energy sources.

      Kopchcik is a professor of microbiology at OU. The Athens Messenger reports Kopchick developed intellectual property in the field of biotechnology that has made a significant impact on human health.

      Kopchick and Bottle both will be inducted as fellows during the conference of National Academy of inventors that will take place on February, 22 in Tampa, Florida.
