ATHENS, Ohio (WSYX/WKRC) -- Ohio University Police are investigating the report of a shooting at Gamertsfelder residence hall at Ohio University in Athens Tuesday afternoon. A short time after 4:15, the university's official Twitter account indicated police found no evidence of a shooting inside the residence hall and were expanding their search to the "East Green". While school officials say the university is not on lockdown, reports indicate East Green -- where Gamertsfelder Hall is located -- has been evacuated and people are urged to avoid the area. Police say alerts and text messages have gone out to students and faculty. Gamertsfelder Hall is a four-floor building with more than 150 rooms, housing co-ed, first-year and upperclassmen. The residence hall houses ROTC students in the fall and spring -- but, not summer. According to former students, Gamertsfelder Hall is often used to house incoming freshmen who are attending orientation during the summer months. No injuries have been reported at this time.Read More at: http://www.local12.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/ohio-university-investigating-possible-shooting-at-residence-hall-14617.shtmlATHENS, Ohio (WSYX/WKRC) -- Ohio University Police are investigating the report of a shooting at Gamertsfelder residence hall at Ohio University in Athens Tuesday afternoon.
