One dead after gunfire erupts in N. Toledo

One person was killed Wednesday in a North Toledo shooting.

Toledo Police are investigating a deadly shooting in North Toledo on Wednesday night.

911 dispatchers say that officers were called to the 658 Spring Street, near Mulberry, just after 7:45 pm following a report of 4 shots and 2 people injured.

When they arrived they found one woman, on the ground in front of the home on Spring Street, and were unable to revive the victim.

As of 9 p.m., her body remained at the scene.

As officials gathered evidence, her body remained in public view but was covered by a sheet.

Investigators have not released any information on how she died.

The Toledo Blade reports that the second victim was found within blocks of where the first victim's body was discovered, near the intersection of Stickney and St. John.

In the initial 911 dispatch to police, the operator reported that the second victim suffered a gunshot wound to the eye.

Toledo Police say the cases are connected but have not provided any more details.

One person was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. A condition and name were not available.
