One teen arrested, one at large in shooting of carryout clerk

Nathaniel Lee

Toledo Police say one of two suspects wanted in connection with the shooting of a Toledo store clerk has been arrested.

Eric Thompson, 19, was taken into custody early Sunday morning. He and another suspect, Nathaniel Lee, 19, are said to shot Mike Abaza inside the Our Food Market, 454 E. Streicher, on Dec. 15. Police say the teens acted as if they were going to make a purchase before firing at the clerk several times and fleeing the scene.

Abaza was treated and released from Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

Thompson has been charged with one count of felonious assault. He is being held in the Lucas County Jail on $500,000 bond.

Lee remains at large.
