Oregon City bike trail connects community

Oregon City Mayor Michael Seferian cuts ribbon for new bike trail.

Bikers and park enthusiasts, the wait is over! Oregon City Mayor Michael Seferian and representatives from Metroparks and Maumee Bay State Park came together for a ribbon cutting ceremony introducing a new eight mile bike path.

The Oregon Parks Bike Trail connects three Oregon City schools with Pearson Metropark and Maumee Bay State Park. This is one of the area's longest paved cycling and leisure trails.

The trail was completed in phases over a 15-year period with a total cost of $1.8 million. Approximately 80 percent of the funding came from state and federal sources with Oregon providing a 20 percent match.
